That sounds odd, doesn't it? A day of remembrance isn't my idea of a happy occasion. But I guess that sounds better than "Sad Memorial Day" or something like that. I also, just this year, realized that some people don't know the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. Today is to REMEMBER and honor those who have died. Veteran's Day is the celebrate & acknowledge those living & dead. I got several texts & Facebook messages today, thanking me for my service. I appreciate that, but don't bother. I am one of the lucky ones. I received no combat injuries. I don't have PTSD. I am alive.
